Welcome back to the royal pleasure palace which was the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Historic Scotland have introduced limits on visitor numbers to help keep everyone safe, and you will not be able to visit without booking online in advance. If you are a Historic scotland Member your ticket will be free, but you must also book in advance.

Explore the magnificent ruins of the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. Linlithgow Palace was built and added to over two centuries by the Stewart kings, resulting in a superb Renaissance residence.

Admission

We've reduced the admission price while access restrictions are in place.

Adult (16-59yrs): £8

Concession (60yrs+ and unemployed): £6.00

Child (5-15yrs): £4

Family (1 adult, 2 children) £14

Family (2 adults, 2 children) £21.50

Family (2 adults, 3 children) £25

If you are a Historic Scotland Member your ticket will be free, but you must book in advance.

Member of English Heritage/Cadw/Manx: half price or free entry, but booking is recommended to guarantee entry.

 

Dogs

Assistance dogs are permitted at all our sites and within roofed areas.  

Visitors' dogs are allowed at Linlithgow Palace, but are not permitted in roofed areas. 

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and not left unattended at any time. Owners must pick up after their dogs.


Opening Hours

We recommend booking online in advance to guarantee entry.

29 Mar to 30 Sept:
Daily, 9.30am to 5pm (last entry 4.15pm).

1 Oct to 28 Mar:
Daily, 10am to 4pm (last entry 3.15pm).
