Felling operations and diversion at Burncrooks Reservoir

Section 2: Balloch to Strathblane

Update: 1st Sept 2022: Works are now complete and this section of trail by the reservoir has reopened. Please note there is a second closure in place northwest of this location - see details here.

Due to felling operations in the forest beside Burncrooks Reservoir, a section of the route in section 2 is currently closed, just to the east of the reservoir.

There are two signposted diversions in place. The shortest is along the north side of the reservoir. There is also an alternative, longer route that joins the east of Burncrooks Reservoir with the nearby Kilmannan Reservoir to the south, before following the track eastwards towards Carbeth and rejoining the John Muir Way.
