Path conditions in Section 10 near East Links Family Park

Section 10: North Berwick to Dunbar

A short section of the John Muir Way walking route in section 10, between Knowes Ford and West Barnes, is currently very muddy and deeply rutted due to forestry operations at Hedderwick Hill plantation during the recent wet conditions. The affected stretch is next to East Links Family Park, just west of Dunbar, and extends for about 20 metres. It is possible to avoid this by walking through the woodland adjacent to the path.

Felling work has finished but there is still some timber to be uplifted, so please take care. We understand that the landowner intends to repair the path once all the timber has been removed and the path has dried out.
