Section 2: Balloch to Strathblane
Update: this section of the route has reopened following the completion of felling operations.

Felling operations are taking place at Merkins Forest, northwest of Burncrooks Reservoir, from 13th September for 11 weeks (until late November 2021). This will close a section of the walking route.
During this period, those wishing to complete section 2 of the John Muir Way should use the alternative waymarked cycle route via Gartness and Dumgoyne.
