Boatshore Holiday Cottage

Boatshore Cottage is a charming seafront cottage situated right on the beach in the fishing village of Cockenzie, East Lothian, Scotland.

Boatshore Cottage is owned by Hannah & John Biddulph and is the 'Granny Cottage' of their own home Jonah Cottage which featured on Scotland's Home of the Year in 2021. This quirky old seafront cottage is situated right on the John Muir way (the path is at the end of the garden!)

Boatshore is a 1 bedroom stone built cottage dating back to 1690. It was originally the old village pub then latterly used by fishermen to store their fishing nets. The cottage has undergone an incredible transformation in recent years. It has been updated to modern standards with a brand new central heating system, super fast fibre, double glazing etc! It has a small internal bunk bedroom with a double bottom bunk and single top bunk. There is a further sofa bed in the large livingroom which also has an incredible purpose built window seat with panoramic views over the Firth of Forth. The cottage boasts uninterupted sea views over the small cove known locally as 'The Boatshore' in the village of Cockenzie. The cove is used daily by wild swimmers and locals. The private sea facing garden has incredible views and a fire pit. 

Boatshore Cottage is on the no.26 bus route which takes under an hour to reach Edinburgh city centre. It is also located 25 minute walk (5 mins by car) to the train station which takes 14 minutes to Edinburgh. 

Prices start from £100 per night in low season and £130 in high season.

We are open all year round except for Christmas Eve - 27th December.
